Happy Birthday to the Dream Factory Community

Posted On: Sunday, October 28, 2018

  • It is the fourteenth year for the Dream Factory Community.   Lots of things are evolving. What has happened since last October?  We celebrated Gratitude in October and the darkest day by Bringing in the Light in December.  Concord had a Holiday Fair so they could share their beautiful products with attendees.

The New Year’s Dinner:

  • The 2018 New Year’s Dinner was at Divine Stoneworks in Ashland.  Based on the book, The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks, Judy Giovangelo and I led a program so that attendees could live live from their genius.  The food was from countries around the world, such as quiche, ceviche and lasagna. Kim DeSimone from Vinitas  Wineworks served wine.

New Programs and Accountabilities:

  • Monthly Leadership Calls, which are open to everyone, allow for feedback and direction.
  • Our Business Membership offers quarterly group coaching sessions, Premiere Membership, a Publicity Package, the Collaborative and complimentary events. Six members are participating.
  • Kathleen Delprete, took on the Marketing for the Dream Factory Community events.  She is publicizing our events through the website, email marketing campaigns, and FaceBook.
  • The Concord Dream Factory Community now has a 5-member Leadership Team.  They are now in charge of planning their monthly Dream Factory Concord Breakfasts.  October featured past member, Marcia Macres, who educated attendees on Marketing.  November will be at Lexington Wealth Management.
  • At Walden Pond

We had a great event at Walden Pond in July that enticed past members, Esperanza Stevens and Amy Mosher Berry, to return. They were joined by new members, Nadine Lucas and Charlene Shalachman McCullough.

CDO Circles:

  • CDO Circles are vibrant. We have Communicators and Scribes who send the reminder emails, manage Completion Sheets, and send a summary of the monthly meetings to the DFC CDO.  Members are more involved and our leaders are supported.
  • Our first CDO Circle, now in Ashland, which was led by Deborah Strafuss for many years, is now being co-led by Ann Seymour and Brenda Hedden and supported by the whole group as Communicators and Scribes.

Newton CDO Training

  • They are creating a model for future CDO Circles.  Elizabeth Meyers took on being the Communicator for the Westboro CDO Circle.

New Dream Factory Community in Newton:

  • In February, we had an introduction to the DFC in Newton, then a CDO Training in March, and now we have a 14-member CDO Circle led by Judy Giovangelo offered at Nina Fine’s spa, MySelf, in Newton.  Sandra Yukes is supporting Judy by handling all the communications and paperwork.  Andrea Saunders is the Scribe.

New Member from Texas:

Holly Brings Anne to Lunch and Learn

In April, I went to Dallas, TX, to be the Keynote Speaker for the Toast Master Conference. There I met our new member from Texas, Anne Redelfs,  who is in our Virtual CDO Circle with Joonu Coste from NC, and supported by our Tech Wizard, Holly Campbell, to attend the monthly Lunch and Learns via Zoom.

Conference: Women and Money:

Our conference, Women and Money, in May was in Newton at the the United Parish of Auburndale.  For our first night dinner, we heard about the research of oncologist Dr. Corey Cutler, who received the proceeds from our silent auction. Then we were educated by Financial Coach, Lora Fickett. On the second workshop day, we featured our members and their expertise.

Overnight Crew at the Conference

  • We had Financial Planners, Wendy Pyne and Samantha Steer; Bookkeepers, Betsy Madison and Anna Chichinov; Estate Planning Attorney, Jessica Pesce, and I led a session on, “Getting Paid for Doing What You Love”.  Some of us stayed overnight at The Walker Center, so much fun.  This wonderful event was sponsored by S&G, LLP.

CDO Training in Sudbury:

  • We had our September CDO Training in Sudbury at Natural Pathways to Health, thanks to new member, Charlene Shalachman McCullough. She was joined by new members, Ruthie Claff, Margo Macfarlane, Amy Mosher Berry, Nadine Lucas, and Concord team member, reviewer, Mary Ann Cleary.

    Judy Giovangelo from Ben Speaks

Lunch and Learns in Framingham:

  • Framingham Dream Factory Community is having monthly Lunch and Learns which are now

    Esther Rest and Brenda Hedden

potlucks.  We are charging less and as a result of many offerings, have a greater variety.

We have had two programs on Closing the Sale and Abundance led by me, and one by Esther Rest, featuring her 10,000 Souls Project and Judy Giovangelo’s book launch of Phoenix Rising.  All of these have been very intimate and very well received.

New Projects:

  • Last but not least, there are two exciting projects that are using the CDO Training.  First, I am partnering with Ben Speaks, Judy Giovangelo’s non-profit, to offer the Dream Factory Community’s curriculum adapted for  adolescents.
  • In October, I went to San Diego, and delivered a version of our CDO Training called Chief Results Officer Training for the sales team of a client of mine who is a Business Development Director for Thermo Fisher.
