Come hear from Judy Giovangelo, Founder of Ben Speaks and Nancy Cantor, CDO of the Dream Factory Community share their journeys of turning tragedy into triumph.

• Judy lost her son Ben to suicide in 2009, and within the next five years, her mom, two sisters Lynn & Candace and her marriage.  She became through Ben Speaks (our non profit partner for this dinner) a voice for change impacting youth & families throughout New England. Through her art, written word and her sister Lyndsey’s original songs, she has become a force to be reckoned with.
• Nancy was found unconscious on the side of the road on May 27, 2019. When she woke up in an ambulance, she discovered that she had had a cycling accident and had broken her right wrist and hip.  At the hospital, she had 2 major operations to reconstruct her hip and wrist. Then it was on to rehab to regain her ability to walk, write, and create her life from a whole new perspective.  The process of recovery has enabled her to realize that she doesn’t want to go backwards, just forward, and discover the partnerships and collaborations that can bring about more impact and greater contribution.

They did not become the victims of their circumstances.  By embracing their challenges and committing to contribute to the world on a larger scale, they transformed Tragedy into Triumph.  During this interactive talk, you will find out what they did and explore how you can as well.
