In Celebration of the Dream Factory Community: Andrea’s Experience

We’ve asked members, past & present, to share their Dream Factory Community experience as a part of our 17th Birthday Celebration. Here is Andrea’s story:
“I joined the Dream Factory Community to work on my career. Having done some math tutoring many years back, I decided to re-establish my math tutoring business.
Since starting a few years ago, I found that my students have been successful, improved their knowledge level and have done better in their coursework. It has grown organically. This year, a few of my families are introducing younger siblings to our work!
Through the CDO Training, which I take each year, I’m able to generate new ideas and new goals. Then by participating in my monthly CDO Circle, I fine-tune my goals and get support and accountability.
Currently I’m working on refining my marketing material, formulating new strategies and steps to reach more students and continue to enhance my curriculum. I am offering more academic advising services that include private school admissions counseling, advocating for families who have students in IEP programs and helping students and their families with course selections.
My students feel supported, gain confidence, do much better in their classes and learn material that will stay with them for the long term. I believe that learning math does not have to be difficult and as long as students learn in a step-by-step method, they are able to do well.
The Dream Factory has given me a tremendous platform to do well myself and take my vision forward. It has empowered me as I empower my students and bring the work and structure forward!”
